Top made of 2" x 4" pine studs, legs made of pressure treated pine 4" x 4", with plywood lower shelf. Polyurethane finish. Approximately 6 feet long, 2 feet wide with woodworking vise and channel for tool storage.

This is the first thing I built after moving into my house. This was the bootstrap project for all other projects that would require a workbench. I got the design from looking through books at the library. It's crudely made, but has a good vice I put on it and is pretty darn rugged.

• My lack of equipment made the gluing of all the studs to make the top less than straight. It's really important to have a nice flat benchtop. I don't have one.
