Deck Lighting 2023

Tony's House Projects

Story
We put in a new deck 10 years earlier and added some lights as described on the Deck Lighting Project Page. The LED strip lights I installed did not hold up very well. Also the small round lights on the stairs kept having their wires eaten by various wildlife. Thus, for most of those 10 years, the deck lighting was not very functional. All the electrical infrastructure I put in place was still in fine shape, but it has been in need of a better LED light solution.
After much procrastination about redoing the deck lights, I finally got motivated. I went with an off-the-shelf solution that I did not find very inspiring from a visual design perspective. My main goal now was functionality, simplicity and durability.
I was pleasantly surprised at the result though. The build quality of the lights was exceptional and they visually look much better than I thought they would.
